Crafting a mini barrel

1. Clean your can with soap and water and let dry.

2. Then, pull the clothespin apart. If you are making this with kids you should make sure to do this part yourself.

3. Now, glue the clothespins around the can until the whole surface is covered. Depending on the type of glue that you use for crafting, you’ll have to press the clothespins against the can until the glue sets a bit.

Unfortunately, I didn’t choose the right glue because I had to press each clothespin to the can for a loooooong time. But I have learned my lesson and, since then, I’ve found that the best option is to use a hot glue gun. Once again, if you are crafting with kids, you’ll have to supervise them to prevent burns and injuries.

4. If you have followed my advice about the glue, you can skip this step. Because I didn’t use the best glue for this project, I had to let my mini barrel dry overnight. However, if you use a hot glue gun, this is not necessary and you can start decorating your craft right away.

5. Finally, the fun part: decorating your mini barrel. For this craft I decided to try gold spray paint, but you can choose to stain it, for example. Let your creativity guide you! Then, I wrapped some scrap tulle around it, and I fastened it with some lace.
