Instructions

1. First, get your base ready. The old picture that I chose to replace was a piece of paper that had been glued to a wood plank, so it was very easy to peel off with a little bit of hot water. You may choose to sand yours, or paint on top using white paint as a primer.

While you wait for the wood plank to get dry (if you had to use hot water to prep it), get your new picture ready.

2. I chose a picture from an old calendar, so I had to cut the edges. You may be able to skip this step if your picture does not have any uneven edges to get rid of.

3. My picture was narrower than the wood base; I chose that on purpose because I wanted to have a pop of color rather than just the picture.

To make sure the picture would be centered, I measured the difference between the picture and the wood base, and divided it by two so that each left and right edge would be symmetrical.

Then, I painted each side with white paint first, and then with cobalt blue.

If your picture measures the same as your base, you may be able to skip this step.

4. Last, cover your base with mod podge using a sponge brush. Lay your picture on the center of your base, and press firmly using a wiping motion from the center of the picture towards the edges. Doing this will prevent air bubbles.

Wait until it dries, and you are all done!

I hope you like my tutorial. Leave a comment and let me know how your projects turn out!

Enjoy 🙂
